NRR Advantages:
- Overall length of comparable CA trucks is 50 inches shorter for Isuzu, requiring less parking space for fleets
- Maximum CA of 189.5 in. for Isuzu vs. 120 in. CA for F-Series. N-Series can accommodate bodies to 24 ft. in length vs a maximum 16 ft. on F-Series
- Built from the ground up as a commercial vehicle for a long life (F-550 is derived from a pickup)
- Reverse Elliot I-Beam front axle and taperleaf springs on
- NRR are rugged and low maintenance with excellent service history. Ford uses coil springs on a tubular beam, with leading links and a lateral link for axle location.
- Conventional cab Ford weights much more than shorter cabover Isuzu. Comparable CA diesel models show Isuzu is more than 2000 lb. lighter than Ford. Extra truck weight costs operators extra fuel for every mile traveled.
- Isuzu has one-ton higher payload than GVWR Ford
- Tilt cab allows easy engine access (limited engine access on F-550 Super Duty with very high reach-over to engine area)
- Tighter turning diameter (curb-to-curb) for comparable cab-to-axle ratio (33.5 ft./109.0 in. WB vs. 48.6 ft./165.0 in. WB ) dramatically improves maneuverability
- Wider door opening for easy entry and exit (85 degree vs. 60 degree)
- Durable tricot breathable woven seat material is comfortable and long lasting (solid vinyl standard on F-550 Super Duty)
- Standard tilt and telescopic steering column contributes to driver comfort (optional tilt steering wheel on F-550)
